Events Manager
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and experienced events professional to join the SBG Hospitality team as an Events Manager! In this role, you will be leading the booking, coordination, and implementation of food partners and event vendors for all SBG Hospitality events and festivals. Additional event manager responsibilities include procuring non-profit partners, recruiting and managing volunteers, booking event staffing, managing event websites, ordering event merchandise and creating and coordinating event activities: Example- grape stomping competitions, bier stein hoisting, culinary demonstrations, etc.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the events industry and has experience with vendor management. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and have an established record of producing exciting and profitable events. This person should be detail oriented, have a strong understanding of events and event partnerships, have a flexible go with the flow disposition, and able to create lasting and meaningful relationships with our event partners. The job requires you to work in the McKinney, TX office.
Responsibilities
Book event vendors to include food partners and marketplace vendors to participate at all annual events varying from food and wine festivals to local fun runs. (Do this by utilizing the SBG database of past vendors, cold calling, visiting other local events, networking, creating an email campaign and growing the SBG prospective vendor list)
Oversee and perfect vendor management and booking strategy to meet and exceed all vendor sales goals
Send invoices and manage payments from all vendors once booked
Create a smooth process for vendor management and load in at the events
Attend bi-monthly chamber of commerce meetings to create new partnerships and keep SBG connected within the community (at least two per month in Collin County)
Act as an on-site point of contact at all festivals and events for vendors (see events calendar on website)
Prepare post-event recap for each event, incorporating feedback and making recommendations to consistently and constantly improve experiences for vendors
Procure non-profit partners for all SBG Hospitality events
Coordinate with non-profit partners to determine volunteer assistance at events
Recruit and build the SBG Hospitality volunteer pool and database
Oversee the volunteer sign-up for all events and communicate with the volunteers regarding their event day roles and expectations
Book event staffing and specialty vendors for all festivals and events to include ice, restrooms, parking coordinators, bartenders, and registration staffing, etc.
Assist with the design and ordering of event merchandise for all festivals and events
Monitor and update the event websites
Coordinate and implement activities at events: grape stomping, culinary demos, costume contests, keg rolling, etc.
Other duties as needed to contribute to the success and goals of SBG Hospitality
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years managing events with a deep understanding of event planning and vendor operations
Ability to plan multiple events concurrently without compromising event quality
Highly self-motivated with the ability to act autonomously
Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in building community (Must have an outgoing personality and eagerness to connect with new people)
Interest in working with a small and growing business (no corporate environment)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational, problem-solving, time management and project management skills
Tech savvy and knowledgeable with programs like Square Space
Accomplished ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva and other related software
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
