Are you a seasoned events professional with a flair for creativity and a track record of delivering successful events? Join our team as the Director of Festivals and Events and take the lead on coordinating and executing SBG Hospitality's impressive lineup of 18+ annual events and festivals.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and has a proven track record of executing successful events. In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to build strong relationships with event partners.

As a hybrid position, you will have the flexibility to work remotely two days a week and collaborate with our team in the McKinney, TX office. The Director should expect to attend an average of 18 Saturday events a year. With new opportunities constantly arising, no two days will be the same in this dynamic role producing top-notch community events.

Event Day Responsibilities:

●      Execute on the company’s strategy for festivals and events, producing high-quality annual events varying from food and wine festivals to local fun runs

●      Provide a strong leadership for the team

●      Act as an on-site point of contact including overseeing logistics

Managing Event Activities and A-team Event Partners:

●      Manage all activities at the events to include culinary demonstrations, Oktoberfest activities, costume contests, grape stomp, competitions, etc.

●      Book and communicate with A-team to include bartenders, registration staff, parking coordinators, transportation services, restrooms, ice, trashcans, street sweepers, decorative lighting, light letters, balloons

Managing Food and Beverage Partners:

●      Book food and beverage partners to participate in all annual events to include, but not limited to, restaurants, food trucks, wineries, breweries, spirit brands

●      Create, update and send applications to food and beverage partners

●      Send communications and arrival/delivery packets to food and beverage partners

●      Ensure food and beverage partners receive their proper permits and insurance for all events to include, but not limited to, health permits and TABC permits

Managing 5k and 10k Operations:

●      Book and work with the race chip timing company to ensure a smooth race chip timing at the event

●      Order bibs and medals

●      Provide chip timing company with bibs

●      Orchestrate and oversee the packet pick-up process for the 5ks

Event Decor and Merchandising

●      Design and implement the VIP tent decor and activations, including ordering decor, booking rentals, determining the menu, and arranging activities

●      Order all event tossware/ glassware

Miscellaneous

●      Other duties as needed to contribute to the success and goals of SBG Hospitality

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

●      Minimum of 5 years managing large-scale events or 3 years specifically working in a community event environment with a deep understanding of event planning and vendor operations

●      Ability to plan multiple events concurrently without compromising event quality

●      Ability to enforce policy and procedures

●      Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to act autonomously

●      Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in building community (Must have an outgoing personality and eagerness to connect with new people)

●      Interest in working with a small and growing business

●      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

●      Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational, problem-solving, time management and project management skills

●      Accomplished ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Canva and other related software

●      Ability to make mature judgements

●      Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary (Approximately 15-19 Saturdays per year.)

●      Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. as this job requires moderate physical labor on event weeks which requires strength and agility.

Required Education

●      Bachelor's degree or more is required (Hospitality Management or equivalent a plus)
