Did Someone Say Costume Contest?

Post event season calls for a little bit of fun here in the SBG Hospitality office! To get into the Halloween spirit, we decided to challenge our team to a costume contest with a catch; the costume must be SBG Hospitality related! As event season always gets a bit crazy, there were plenty of stories to inspire our teams’ costumes. Check out the costumes below!

When planning large scale festivals, there are SO many details that go into planning them. From the big items such as stage rentals and entertainment to smaller items such as types of wine served and décor, there is A LOT to be considered. Brittney’s costume told an inside story of a time when a detail was forgotten about amongst the craziness that is festival planning. Long story short… we needed a corkscrew… and we found one! Brittney nailed it!

“In November…” :

During the months of September and October, the SBG Hospitality team is insanely busy honing in on the final details of ALL events and executing our festivals. We stay so busy that sometimes we forget to even breathe! That being said, the months of September and October for the SBG team look a bit different than the post event season month of November. Kaylee’s costume tells the story of SBG Hospitality’s transition from event season to post event season while playing on a common joke throughout our office.

Kaylee is IN November-literally! Her box represents November and she is physically in the box. Being so busy during the months of September and October, we caught ourselves constantly saying “oh, we will circle back to that in November” or “oh, add that to our list of things to do in November,” as things came up. Need to reconfigure our VIP tent? “In November…” Need to figure out a better vendor plan? “In November…” Need to update our websites? “In November…” and the list goes on and on and on and on and on…. you get the point. At first it was so natural for us to put everything off until November and only when we realized how often we were actually saying “in November” did it become a joke. From then on any time something needed to be done by the SBG team, we would all laugh and say something along the lines of “oh yeah.. uh huh we will get right on that in November.” Being such a common joke throughout the event season, it was only necessary for Kaylee to make a play on words and be “IN November.”

During event season, we often came to the office in athleisure with no makeup on looking tired from the weeks before (and ahead, ha!). Kaylee’s attire represents the SBG team’s appearance in November; we are well-rested, energized, and looking our best! As her box represents November, there are different items taped all around the box. On one side, she has a long list of to-dos on a clipboard representing ALL of the things we said we would do in November. On the other side of the box (not pictured) she had a checklist of all of our fall events checked off; in November, we have survived our event season and completed our events! All around the box were different office items such as pens, highlighters, sticky notes, scissors, business cards, etc.; in November, we will be working hard in the office so we will be needing all the office supplies!

As we now have a chance to breathe, we will also be enjoying celebratory mimosas in November for an event season well done!😉

To anyone who we may have said “…in November” to… Kaylee is IN November and she is on it!

“Did someone say grape stomp?” :

Andrew.JPEG

At our wine festivals, we have grape stomping competitions taking place throughout the day and 100% of the proceeds goes to local nonprofits! Between all the wine being served at the event and the grape stomping competitions, Andrew had to represent one of the biggest contributors to our festivals… GRAPES!

Without grapes, we could not have all of the delicious wines or the grape stomping competitions at our festivals. Thank you Andrew for representing the main source of fun for our festivities!

Watch out! I heard they were looking for some more grapes to stomp over on the competition stage 😉

The team here at SBG Hospitality had such a fun Halloween reminiscing on stories of our hectic event season. Everyone’s costumes were top-notch! Pulling from a panel of 7 judges from neighboring offices, the winner of the costume contest was announced as “in November…”! Congratulations Kaylee and great costumes everyone!

SBG Hospitality is looking forward to a holiday season full of planning for our spring events. We will see you all then!
